Softball UMPIRES
Nominations for the 2026/27 program are open
The SWSAS Softball Umpire Program is delivered in partnership with Softball NSW and the Regional Academies of Sport (RAS) network.
This program provides a high‑performance development pathway for Softball Umpires, focusing on technical skills, strength and conditioning, athlete education, and personal growth.
Athletes receive targeted skill development, seasonal training support, and preparation for high‑performance tournaments. The program includes practical education in areas such as S&C, nutrition, sports psychology and injury management, along with opportunities to represent SWSAS at events, inter‑academy sessions and camps.
Program Benefits
Selected athletes will receive:
- Structured on-field technical and tactical coaching.
- Strength and conditioning support throughout the program.
- Access to performance education workshops (nutrition, wellbeing, mental performance).
- Opportunity to compete at the Academy Games and Softball NSW events.
- Exposure to Softball NSW talent identification staff and state selection opportunities.
- Program delivered in alignment with national development frameworks.
Athlete Eligibility
Program Eligibility Criteria
Athletes must:
- Reside in one of the following LGAs: Camden, Campbelltown, Liverpool and Wollondilly.
- Be between 12-18 Years of Age
- Reside within, attend school, or play for an association in the regional catchment area.
- Be a registered and financial member of a Softball NSW affiliated association.
- Participate in a Softball NSW-endorsed trial process or be identified by SNSW.
- Commit to full program attendance and meet all engagement and conduct expectations.
- Complete required RAS, Sport Integrity Australia and Softball NSW education modules.
Athlete Levy
An athlete scholarship levy will apply, covering the above listed program benefits and more. Uniform costs are additional, with Softball‑specific and RAS uniform items purchased through the official supplier. Additional event costs may apply for Academy Games and other pathway events.

- Coach/Manager Expressions of Interest (EOIs) Open: August 31, 2026
- Coach/Manager Expressions of Interest (EOIs) Close: September 14, 2026
- Athlete Nominations Open: September 1, 2026
- Athlete Nominations Close: September 25, 2026
- Trials and/or Selection Period: October–November 2026
- Final Squad Announced: November 2026
