Nominations for the 2026 program are now closed

The CCAS Skateboarding program is delivered in partnership with Skate Australia and the Regional Academies of Sport (RAS) network.

This program provides a high‑performance development pathway for talented young Skateboarders, focusing on technical skills, strength and conditioning, athlete education, and personal growth. 

Athletes receive targeted skill development, seasonal training support, and preparation for high‑performance trials. The program includes practical education in areas such as S&C, nutrition, sports psychology and injury management, along with opportunities to represent CCAS at events, inter‑academy sessions and camps.

Program Partners

Selected athletes receive:

  • 7 Skill Development Sessions Focused on multiple disciplines based in Newcastle and Central Coast including a two day workshop
  • Access to Athlete Discounts
  • Access to purchase CCAS Merchandise Pack
  • Athlete education covering key topics including, Drugs in Sport, Leadership, Load Management, Media Training, Motivation, Nutrition, Social Media, Sports Psychology
  • Functional Movement Screening 
  • Weekly Face to Face Strength and Conditioning Sessions
  • 3 Month Mingara Gym, Track and Pool Pass
 

Additional CCAS benefits:

Program Eligibility Criteria

Athletes must:

  • Turning 10 – 17 (2010-2018) in 2027
  • Submit a video application via email to abbie@regionalacademies.org.au (as well as submitting the nomination form here)

The athlete levy contributes towards the overall cost of delivering the Academy programs. Within our high performance programs are items including:

  • Access to Academy Games* (relevant sports/age groups only)
  • Insurance
* Please note, Items marked with an Asterix are components supported through NSW Government grant funding. The grant contribution from the NSW government is limited to costs and activities identified in the approved Project Plan. The remaining portion of the athlete levy contributes towards costs associated with delivering and administering the Academy that are not covered by the NSW Government grant funding.
