Nominations for the 2026/27 program will open around September 2026

The CCAS Skateboarding program is delivered in partnership with Skate Australia and the Regional Academies of Sport (RAS) network.

This program provides a high‑performance development pathway for talented young Skateboarders, focusing on technical skills, strength and conditioning, athlete education, and personal growth. 

Athletes receive targeted skill development, seasonal training support, and preparation for high‑performance trials. The program includes practical education in areas such as S&C, nutrition, sports psychology and injury management, along with opportunities to represent CCAS at events, inter‑academy sessions and camps.

Program Partners

Selected athletes receive:

  • 6 Skill Development Sessions Focused on multiple disciplines based in Newcastle and Central Coast
  • Access to Athlete Discounts

  • Access to purchase CCAS Merchandise Pack

  • Athlete education covering key topics including, Drugs in Sport, Leadership, Load Management, Media Training, Motivation, Nutrition, Social Media, Sports Psychology

  • Functional Movement Screening and Review Session

  • Weekly Face-to-Face Strength and Conditioning Sessions

  • 3-Month Mingara Gym, Track and Pool Pass

 

Additional CCAS benefits:

Program Eligibility Criteria

Athletes must:

  • Turning 10 – 17 (born 2015 -2008) in 2027
  • Currently reside in the Central Coast Council LGA
  • Demonstrate a dedication to improving performance
An athlete levy will apply, covering the above listed program benefits and more. Uniform costs are additional, with Skateboarding‑specific and CCAS items purchased through the official supplier. Additional event costs may apply for pathway events.
