The WRAS Triathlon program is delivered in partnership with Triathlon NSW and the Regional Academies of Sport (RAS) network.
This program provides a high‑performance development pathway for talented young Triathletes, focusing on technical skills, strength and conditioning, athlete education, and personal growth. It aligns with the Triathlon NSW Development Pathway and connects athletes to state and national pathways.
Athletes receive targeted skill development, seasonal training support, and preparation for races in the Biligence Pathways Series. Athletes are encouraged to engage in their local club races and wider Central West Triathlon League.
Program Benefits
Selected athletes receive:
- High‑quality coaching in a squad environment in quality training facilities
- Strength & Conditioning assessment, programming and high‑performance training support
- Opportunities to represent WRAS at events
- Academy uniform kit (additional cost)
- Participation in Your Local Club Academy Games and Inter-Academy activities (as appropriate)
Additional WRAS benefits:
- Access to Lumin (Academy athlete performance and management platform)
- Support for award and scholarship nominations

- Promotion through WRAS media channels
Athlete Eligibility
Program Eligibility Criteria
Athletes must:
- Aged 13-19 years old in 2027 (ie born in 2008-2014)
- Be committed to progressing to higher representation within Triathlon
- Be a registered member of a Triathlon club within the Western region.
- Reside in one of the following LGAs: Bathurst Regional, Bland, Blayney, Cabonne, Cowra, Dubbo Regional, Forbes, Gilgandra, Hilltops, Lachlan, Lithgow, Mid-Western Regional, Narromine, Oberon, Orange, Parkes and Weddin.
Athlete Levy
An athlete scholarship levy of $350* applies and covers the program benefits outlined above, along with a range of additional athlete development opportunities throughout the season.

Uniform costs are additional and include Western Region Academy of Sport apparel and the compulsory Triathlon race suit (Tri Suit). The Tri Suit is supplied through the Academy’s official supplier at a cost of $250.00
