Meet the athlete | Ava Prince

Central Coast Academy of Sport golfer Ava Prince is continuing to make her mark on the Australian golfing scene, producing outstanding results across regional, state and national competition while gaining valuable experience alongside some of the sport’s leading professionals.

A back-to-back Your Local Club Regional Academy Games winner, Ava has built an impressive list of achievements, including the Combined Catholic Colleges Overall Girls Championship, Toukley Ladies Club Championship and Magenta Shores Junior Club Championship. She has also finished runner-up at the NSW Champion of Champions, with another memorable milestone coming when she recorded her first-ever hole-in-one.

Ava’s performances have extended to the national stage, where she claimed first place in the Girls Division and third overall at the Webex Players Series Castle Hill. Competing alongside professional golfers in a televised event, the result highlighted her ability to perform under pressure against an accomplished field.

Her success has also translated to team competition. Ava remained undefeated across three rounds to help the Central Coast secure the Eric Apperly Shield Regional Playoff title. She also teamed up with fellow Academy athlete Max Atwell to finish undefeated and secure victory at the Jack Newton Junior Golf North versus South Cup.

Further strong performances include a runner-up finish in the Nick Faldo Series and multiple top-10 results across Jack Newton Junior Golf events and amateur tournaments throughout New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.

Ava’s dedication and potential have also been recognised through her selection in the 2026 Jack Newton Junior Golf Development Squad, which supports the progression of promising young golfers through technical coaching, performance development and preparation for state and national pathways.

One of Ava’s most memorable experiences so far has been the opportunity to compete in a professional tournament at Magenta Shores, playing alongside international professionals with her coach, Gavin, on the bag. Coordinating their outfits in pink added a special touch to an experience that offered invaluable insight into the professional game.

With a growing list of titles, representative opportunities and experience competing against elite fields, Ava continues to demonstrate the talent, composure and determination required to progress in golf.

Regional Academies of Sport is proud to support Ava’s development and looks forward to following her continued journey as she pursues her ambitions on the course.
