Academy Games honoured as Community Event of the Year at 2025 Sport NSW Awards

Regional Academies of Sport (RAS) is excited to announce that the 2025 Your Local Club Academy Games has been named Community Event of the Year at the prestigious Sport NSW Community Sports Awards, held on Monday, June 30th at CommBank Stadium in Sydney.

This incredible recognition highlights the Academy Games’ outstanding contribution to community sport in New South Wales. Up against a strong field of finalists, the event stood out for its positive impact on athletes, families, volunteers, and the broader sporting community. It’s a proud moment for everyone involved in bringing this event to life.

Hosted by Sport NSW with the support of the NSW Government, the awards ceremony celebrated excellence across 12 categories. The evening was attended by key figures in sport and government, including The Hon. Steve Kamper MP, Minister for Sport, and The Hon. Jodie Harrison MP, Minister for Volunteering – both of whom acknowledged the vital role community sport plays in shaping a healthier, more connected society.

The Academy Games is more than just a competition – it’s a celebration of regional talent, teamwork, and the power of sport to unite communities. This award is a testament to the dedication of our volunteers, athletes, coaches, families, and supporters who make the event such a success year after year.
