Baseball NSW launches performance support programs in partnership with Regional Academies of Sport

Following the recent launch of the BNSW/Sydney Blue Sox Academy program (U9-14); the Baseball NSW Performance Support Programs will represent a major uplift from the former, EPP, DPP and PPP programs of previous years.

For the first time, the program will include an Under 14 age group, while also aligning the Women’s Program alongside the established Under 16 and Under 18 programs. This evolution reflects Baseball NSW’s commitment to providing a more inclusive, structured, and progressive athlete development pathway.

Underpinning this expansion is a landmark partnership with the Regional Academies of Sport, elevating the initiative into a fully integrated Performance Support Program.

All participants will be recognised as Western Sydney Academy of Sport athletes, gaining access to a comprehensive network of high-performance services delivered through the Blacktown Exercise, Sports and Technology Hub.

This collaboration brings together elite coaching with leading support in strength and conditioning, sports science, psychology, nutrition, and athlete wellbeing ensuring players are developed holistically, both on and off the field.

The programs are designed for athletes who are committed to their development and ready to train and compete alongside the best emerging talent in New South Wales. All sessions will be delivered at Blacktown International Sports Park from early June through to late August.

Baseball NSW CEO, Matt Rippon said:

“This is a defining step forward for baseball in New South Wales. We are building a genuine high-performance environment that not only identifies talent, but systematically develops it through world-class support and structure. By partnering with the Regional Academies of Sport, we are ensuring our athletes have access to the best level of expertise. This is about creating complete athletes physically, mentally, and personally; and setting a new benchmark for our sport.”

Erin Wilson, General Manager – Performance & Innovation from the Regional Academies of Sport said:

“This has been a truly co-designed approach with Baseball NSW, bringing together expertise to build a stronger development environment for athletes. It’s the first of many opportunities to align capability across our sports and deliver better outcomes through a more connected system.”
